THE PISS PAINTINGS - 2026
Oddany Gallery
491 Sydney Road Brunswick, Melbourne
This body of work experiments with a painting style new to my practice, while pushing my limits of transparency and honesty in subject matter. THE PISS PAINTINGS, places the female figure (referred to as she and her) front and centre across a range of situations, asserting dominance in the most elemental of ways.Ignoring traditional social roles, she performs like the far-right governments and white supremacists that have increasingly become more dangerous-er, louder and stupider. Her legs are cocked and arms bent for bracing the weight of her body as she pisses to claim dominance and ownership of her body and rights. Validating her space and value in a world that is becoming increasingly dangerous for a lot of people who just wish to be left alone to exist as themselves. By poking fun and making light of the serious issues that I have experienced (like many others), I have used humour to negate the exhaustive everyday pressures and ease my own physical and mental load.
